About
I build infrastructure other engineers build on: shared platforms, internal tools, and workflows that teams across an organization adopt and extend on their own, often without me in the loop. I'm always trying to make myself redundant, documenting and handing off what I build so I can move on to the next interesting problem. I care most about making the unglamorous parts of engineering (reliability, testing, developer experience) invisible, so everyone else can move faster.

Sr. Software Developer 2023 - Present
Presence
- Architected and led the design of a deterministic, rules-based referral-matching engine spanning multiple backend services, replacing a fully manual workflow and contributing to a company-reported savings of 290+ hours of operations labor per FY26 metrics.
- Advocated for deterministic, auditable logic over LLM-based approaches for business-critical matching workflows, right- sizing the organization's growing AI investment against the reliability and cost guarantees production systems require.
- Founded the organization's shared Angular package ecosystem, establishing an RFC-driven monorepo architecture now extended independently by engineers across multiple teams, including shared authentication, styling, and testing infrastructure.
- Replaced a third-party rich text editor after a licensing change by designing and building a fully-tested, modular replacement from scratch, eliminating an approximately $20,000 annual license cost.
- Built and solely maintain an internal developer tool integrating GitHub, Jira, and Slack, now relied on by every engineering team for pull request visibility and cross-team communication.
- Volunteered as onboarding mentor for newly hired engineers and instituted a proactive security review practice for internal tooling, identifying and closing exploitable gaps before external discovery.

- Successfully initiated and led the transition of a legacy Angular application to a modern React application, resulting in improved performance, maintainability, and user experience.

- Collaborated with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize features, ensuring that the development efforts were aligned with business goals and user needs.

- Built a React component library from scratch, styled with Tailwind CSS, pairing directly and iteratively with an in-house designer to shorten design-to-code turnaround and keep implementation closely aligned with design intent.
- Developed a suite of framework-agnostic web components using Lit, enabling core product UI to be embedded directly into third-party lender websites outside the primary React application.
- Led frontend delivery on several of the company's highest-revenue projects, fully implementing two complete systems within an aggressive timeline while sustaining team morale under pressure.
- Served as the staff-level frontend engineer for a loan management platform supporting commercial lenders across secured, revolving, installment, and hybrid loan products.

- Spearheaded the creation and ongoing maintenance of a highly accessible React component library for an organization, ensuring consistency and best practices while providing mentorship and guidance to fellow frontend developers.
- Successfully implemented enterprise-wide deployment pipelines, driving adoption and standardization across teams and enabling the efficient build and deployment of over 800 services as of October 2021.
- Developed a custom authentication system that leverages a custom Layer 7 Proxy to manage all state via headers, resulting in a highly secure and efficient authentication process.
- Established a fine-grained, role-based authorization system to ensure that users only have access to the resources and data they need, enhancing the security and integrity of sensitive information.
- Created a custom UI for AWS services, enabling developers to manage cloud services without direct access and improving the efficiency and ease of use of cloud resources.

- Designed and implemented a performant API service to search employees, instructors, and courses, improving the search experience for users.
- Created an OAuth2 server to enable secure authentication for users and integrated it with various applications, enhancing the security of user data and streamlining the authentication process.
- Developed a custom CMS that allowed for the creation and management of content across multiple websites, improving the efficiency of content management and reducing the time required to update websites.
- Implemented a responsive design for the university's main website, ensuring that it was accessible and usable on a wide range of devices and screen sizes.
